Analogia Project

Analogia Project

Analogia project is the result of the collaboration between the designer Andrea Mancuso and the architect Emilia Serra. Analogia project is a research-based design studio that creates objects, furniture and installations. The practice is characterized by a narrative approach, which challenges the perception of space while focusing on a deep historical investigation and a creative interpretation of materials.

The building, famous since the 2nd century, has been studied and depicted throughout the ages. Where The Rain Stops is a portrayal of the inner dome appearing on a screen: finely decorated on a black surface, the lines that delimit the geometries become subtle golden marks and the hole in the Pantheon pierces the screen panels.

For this project, created exclusively for Milan’s Camp Design Gallery and the result of a collaboration with Analogia Project, we made the paper and then hand-drew the interior of the dome on the screen panels using the ancient spolvero technique used in the Renaissance for frescoes.

A play on perspective deforms the projection on one of the panels and invites the viewer to look for a point of view from which the circle becomes a circle again, entering into a dynamic relationship with this work.

The result is a deep and precious drawing, delimited by a brass thread that separates the world of representation from the real one.
